We are at war, again

People are dead. People are injured, some decapitated - worse than death, that. Families are shattered, a whole generation is mourning. There’s talk, there’s analysis, there’s blame. But there’s not enough action - first to prevent it and then to counter it. I don’t care if anyone does think they’re trying their best. If this is the ‘best’ we can do in the event of a terrorist attack, then hey, we’ve screwed up somewhere.

And while people are blaming each other, some are defending them. Um, are we missing something here? Pardon me, for this is a point done-to-death, but it’s quite salient, so I’ll make it again.

There is a fundamental difference when bombs go off in India and America. We don’t retaliate.

And that sucks. It pains me to think that we should look at the Americans for inspiration on anything of national interest, but here I am.

If there were twin blasts in New York, Uncle Sam - who might have his brains where other orbs ought to be - would have ensured that he nukes the rears of a thousand ‘terrorists’ (who could just be innocent Muslims, but hey - you think Bush can tell the difference?). Eerily, it seems there is an anti-Muslim propaganda taking birth from these events. Maybe someday the leaders will wake up and realise that there’s a political agenda, and nothing else. If indeed, these are Muslim outfits, then they are horribly far from their religion, and they ought to be exterminated anyway.

But we, on the other hand, do very, very little to lose them. When have you heard of R&AW’s counter-intelligence officials assasinating ISI agents? When have you heard of a planned military offensive on targets in Pakistan and Kashmir to counter terrorism?

We can’t have this. We just can’t have cowardly eunuchs scare us, and then kill us. My heart goes out to the people of Hyderabad, many of whom are scared to walk out in the open. I genuinely hope the Army and Intelligence work together to realise their fundamental objective - National Security. I hope they find out exactly who was behind all this. I hope they hunt down every one of manhood-deficient rogues in those sleeper cells. I hope they put everything else aside, and focus entirely on eradicating terrorism from the city. Not being able to walk free is the shittiest feeling one can ever encounter, and that’s what many in Hyderabad would be thinking about now. It’s mass murder. It’s bloody genocide.

I also hope that we will counter-attack - both strategically and tactically. And fast. We ought to kill them, not before feeding their intimate parts to the strays.

And Gandhism you better sit this one out. Because folks, we are at war. Again.

The only differences in this war - the victims are civilians, the enemy is an illegitimate coward who isn’t even blessed between his legs with the courage to stand up and fight like a man for his baseless cause, and the battlefield is the city.

It could be your home next. Or mine.

Al-Qaeda is dumb, but why are we?

Tell you what, Al Qaeda is dumb, and what’s more - they’re a fake, because the outfit is seriously un-Islamic. They have us all fooled, but really, they don’t know crap about their faith.

The blind jackasses ought to pay more attention to their Islamiyat lessons. Jihad, FYI, is about struggle to preserve your faith, and not about gunning down innocent people on the streets.

Now, they threaten India. Shiver me timbers, they’re at it again.

So New Delhi is a target because we killed 100,000 muslims in Kashmir? With the blessings of Uncle Sam? We took help from the US to clean our backyard? Hello?

They’re not just terrorists, they’re absurdly dumb as well. Is this an Al-Qaeda statement or a Hollywood script? Don’t they get it? The US is absolutely uninterested in Kashmir, because hey - there’s no oil there. Elementary, dear Laden, they don’t bless anything.

And India promptly downplays the threat - though the news comes at a rather disturbing time, when our forces are a bit ‘occupied’ fetching people out from the wrath of the floods. Why downplay it? Because there’s no ‘confirmed’ threat, silly! What did they expect anyway, Bin Laden coming on air and going “InshAllah, with the blessings of the Almighty, we will be bombing your asses at 3pm on Wednesday?”

Get real, all of you.

I think Al Qaeda got their priorities wrong, anyway. The real threat to them is Pakistan, not India. Pak have played dirty once already with the Taleban when they figured that Bushy would be at their doorstep soon after 9/11. The greatest enemy lies within, and in AQ’s case, all around them. Ironically, Pak knows that it needs to act fast to flush the militants from within their nation, and that’s a crazy task given the sympathy AQ gets from Muslim fundamentalists.

And the fools, the idiots, the blind afterbirths of half-pregnant camels - AQ forgot to read the portions of the very religion they claim to be the ‘custodians’ of. Do they honestly think that they can bomb Indian targets without killing Muslims? What does their death amount to, Holy Sacrifice? Is AQ really that foolish and that ignorant of the religion they’re trying to ‘protect’? What are they reading, a Holy Book edited and tweaked to meet their military requirement? I don’t know who’s looking after this outfit, but that 6′6 chap who apparently masterminded 9/11 might’ve forgotten his brains back in Tora Bora.

Et moi? I hate these statements by ‘the base’ because it creates panic amongst Indians (who are getting as paranoid as the US, which itself is scary) and it fuels hatred for Muslims, and for Islam - a religion of peace, a religion that Al Qaeda doesn’t really represent. It makes extremist radical outfits like the Shit Shiv Sena look like smart-alecks when they come up with their baseless nonsensical anti-Muslim propaganda.

It creates unnecessary turmoil. The reaction? Although the Centre nearly rubbished the threat, Bangalore and Hyderabad look like they’ve stepped up security. In fact, Bangalore has a counter-terrorism unit. Great, good prompt action, but tell you what folks - this is reactive action. Not proactive.

As I learnt from my childhood days of playing the DOS version of Command and Conquer Red Alert, building a strong base is a great thing, but eventually, to win the war, you have to attack and exterminate every single enemy out there.

And how far up are we on that front? Ground-zero. We sat and watched, mere spectators, as the US launched one legitimate war (read: Kabul) and one fake one (read: Baghdad) in pursuit of the terrorists. I wonder why.

Sanjay Dutt doesn’t walk free anymore

This is what he says when the verdict was passed.

Sir, I made a mistake 14 years ago. Please give me some time to surrender

He has a point here, doesn’t he? In the years that have passed, Sanjay Dutt has kept his distance from the underworld. Does dining with the underworld make you a terrorist? Besides, Justice Kode clearly suggested that the crimes committed by Dutt and his friends Adajania and Nulwalla were not “anti-social, ghastly, inhuman, immoral or pre-planned” and did not cause any harm to the general public.

Then why six years?

The reactions are mixed. With 16 months already spent, Sanjay Dutt has four and a half years to go before he walks free, until the Supreme Court think otherwise. Until August 2, he’ll be put up at the Arthur Road Jail prison - walls of hostility, they be.

While folks might not care even if rupees 500 million worth of movie business is riding on him, the impact that Lage Raho Munnabhai had, and the Gandhigiri wave that swept the nation is one that’s rarely seen before, even as some might disagree. Realistic cinema at it’s best, driving many an Indian to think beyond the paradigm. This, fuelled by the protagonist. Right, so reel and real are different, but why isn’t anyone taking into account his impact on people as a person?

People tell me, that his repentance won’t bring back those who died in the ‘93 blasts. First question - was he fully responsible for it? Second question, agree, for a minute, that his repentance means nothing now. If so, WHAT will get the departed back?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Zilch.

So, while he rots in Arthur Jail that’s seen as many fights as inmates, what’s your opinion? Are you for him, or against him?

Success Mantra #219 - become a non-terrorist

I can understand if a terrorist makes the headlines - but, excuse me - what is a non-terrorist doing up there in every paper, hogging all the limelight? I mean, I never harmed anyone, why doesn’t someone offer me a job with the government departement for ‘not bombing’?

I sympathize with Haneef and their family - only they know how much they’ve been through - but why overdo it? End of the day, he’s just another normal Indian doctor looking out for a good job, so let him be. Why does the CM have to intervene in this issue, and that too personally? Last I checked with him, he claimed that merit was the only means of securing a decent government job. I rubbished that notion then, and hey, I rubbish it again here.

Or maybe, just maybe, this is Kumarasamy’s lame attempt at winning more support from the Muslims to extend his stay at Vidhana Soudha.

As is expected, the media are overexcited with his return. They’re following the lad like a shadow, publishing everything worthy (and otherwise) of him. The only thing left to report is when he eats, shits and farts. Give him a break guys, let him get back to his normal life.

And in the process, give me a break too.
